Abstract

It is of great significance to choose the adaptive parameters of bistable system which not only ensure the phenomenon stochastic resonance can take palace but make the performance of the output signal optimum. In this paper, A precise parameter-tuned stochastic resonator (PSR) is proposed to improve the receiving performance of binary pulse amplitude modulated (BPAM) signal at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and it is applied to digital image transmission. By tuning the parameters of aperiodic bistable system according to the proposed method, there exists a cooperative effect that compressed code stream which is modulated to BPAM are enhanced. Simulation results show that the PSR-based receiver is easy to be implemented and the bit error ratio (BER) performance of the PSR-based receiver is improved greatly compared with the method which doesn't use PSR under the strong noise environment.
