Abstract
The submolecules of a set of Kekulé structures are partitioned according to the degrees of their vertices. The coefficients of the resulting sequence are shown to be identical to resonant sextet numbers for non-branched all-benzenoid cata-condensed hydrocarbons and certain types of non-breanched non-all-benzenoid hydrocarbons.
