Abstract

To improve the fault-tolerant operation ability of open-winding PMSM (OW-PMSM) system, a novel fault-tolerant topology and deadbeat control method for single phase open-circuit fault is proposed. Compared with the conventional fault-tolerant topology of the OW-PMSM system with single phase open-circuit, this new topology can reduce the number of bridge arm from 4 to 3. Two switching devices and their drivers are saved while ensuring the control performance. Finally, simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed topology and the control method.
