Abstract

A novel far-red phosphors Li2ZnTi3O8:Cr3+ were successfully synthesized via the conventional solid-state method. The structural characteristics, luminescence properties and concentration quenching of the Li2ZnTi3O8:Cr3+ phosphors were investigated systematically. Under the excitation at 360 nm and 468 nm, the Li2ZnTi3O8:Cr3+ phosphors displays the emission spectra in the range from 600 nm to 850 nm. The far-red emission centered at 735 nm was attributed to the spin-forbidden 2E→4A2 transition of Cr3+ ions. The research results of this paper indicate that the phosphors Li2ZnTi3O8:Cr3+ has prospective applications in indoor plant cultivation.
