Abstract

The photocatalytic decomposition of formic acid (HCOOH) into dihydrogen and carbon dioxide was found to occur at Cu2O, particularly without the contamination by CO from the organic acid. This work first demonstrated that the stoichiometric and selective decomposition of HCOOH is induced by a visible-light-responsive photocatalyst.
