Abstract

Traditional fossil fuel-based power plant generates huge amount of greenhouse and toxic gases along with other pollutants that are detrimental to the environment. Therefore, renewable resources based power plant is the best option for the current problem. Since, renewable resources depend on the geographic condition of a particular location along with the time of availability, therefore hybrid power plant (HPP) is highly recommended by the researchers. The current research focuses on designing a novel energy management system (EMS) model for an on-grid solar-wind-biomass-battery based hybrid system which manages the distribution of power as per availability of renewable resources, satisfies the load demand, charging or discharging of the battery and injection or consumption of power to/from grid. The proposed hybrid power plant along with the EMS has been modeled and simulated in the MALTAB/Simulink platform.
