Abstract

The existed measuring methods for earth capacitance of distribution network still have some problems: only applicable to specific scenarios, it is complex to inject multi-frequency signals or sweep frequency, affected by leakage impedance of potential transformer and damping resistor of arc suppression coil, etc. Aiming at these problems, a novel earth capacitance measuring method for distribution network based on direct signal injection at neutral point is proposed. In this method, the current signal with specific frequency is directly injected into the distribution network through the neutral point, and the return voltage signal is measured at the second side of potential transformer installed at neutral point. The total capacitance to earth can be calculated by zero-sequence circulation loop of the injected signal. Calculation formulas of earth capacitance measurement for different neutral grounding ways are deduced in detail. Finally, based on a 10kV distribution network simulation model, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified and the measurement error is analyzed.
