Abstract

The direction of arrival (DOA) estimation is a traditional problem in the wireless communications and corresponding applications. In this study, a novel improved DOA estimation approach based on the dynamic stochastic resonance (SR) system is proposed. Along with the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) enhancement introduced by the SR system, the DOA estimation performance can be improved. The unbiasedness and the asymptotic efficiency of the proposed SR-based DOA estimation approach have been proved theoretically especially under low SNR circumstances. Computer simulation results also verify the applicability of this novel approach, which shows that the DOA estimation resolution can also be improved.
