Abstract
Phasor measurement units (PMUs) have been widely used in power systems. False data injection attacks and gross error may lead to abnormal data contained by PMU amplitude measurements. Aiming at this problem, this paper proposes a detection method for the abnormal PMU amplitude data based on the measured data at both ends of the transmission line (TL). In detail, firstly, the problem engaged with the amplitude of the measured PMU data and four abnormal data models for the amplitude of the PMU data is presented. Secondly, two detection indexes defined based on the parameter of the line and the measured data of PMU at both ends of the line is presented, and the relationship between the proposed indexes and abnormal data models is discussed. And then, a method to determine the threshold for the proposed indexes and the process to detect the abnormal amplitude with the proposed indexes is presented. Finally, the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed detection method is verified by simulation and measured data.
