Abstract

This paper presents a miniaturized antenna for ultra wide band (UWB) applications. The geometrical structure of antenna mainly comprises a meander line notched structure, split ring resonator (SRR), and half-plane ground. The antenna is printed on an FR4 epoxy substrate. In this antenna, the microstrip line fed element has 50-H input impedance to achieve good impedance matching. The split ring structure is connected with meander line notches to obtain the UWB band of operations and high- frequency structure simulator (HFSS) software is used for design and simulation of the notched patch antenna.
