Abstract

Nowadays, radar cross section (RCS) reduction is becoming more and more important in the military and civilian fields. In the work, we put forward a novel method to reduce RCS of the object by using the microwave absorber. The bandwidth of our absorber design reaches 14.63 GHz, from 3.37 GHz to 18 GHz. Additionally, the minimum reflection loss is -14.42 dB at 5.14 GHz and the total thickness is 3 mm. When our design is put on a PEC cylinder, it also has a good performance both for horizontally illumination and vertically polarized illumination. In a word, our absorber design is an effective way to achieve RCS reduction.
