Abstract

An electrochemical noise (EN) measurement configuration has been developed based on the embedded-electrodes (EEs), which was suitable for in-situ evaluation of the organic coating under marine alternating hydrostatic pressure (AHP) environment. EN analysis results of the EE configuration, including noise resistance and shot noise parameters, were compared with these of conventional measurement configuration and EIS results. In addition, corrosion behaviour of the substrate beneath the coating has been studied to investigate the protective performance of the coating. The results confirmed the validity and reliability of the application of the in-situ EE configuration under AHP.
