Abstract

Abstract A new fluorescent Zn 2+ chemosensor, 8-(7′-Hydroxy-4′-methylcoumarin-8′-yl-) methyleneiminoquinoline ( L ) was designed and synthesized. This complex could act as highly sensitive and selective fluorescent probe for Zn 2+ in THF (tetrahydrofuran). However, other metal ions gave little fluorescence change.
