Abstract

A novel coordination polymer [Cd(bpda)(btx)·H2O]n (1) (H2bpda = 4,4′-carbonyldibenzoic acid, btx = 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene) has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of complex 1 shows a novel three-dimensional framework based on Cd2O2 clusters with three-fold interpenetrated 6-connected net with point symbol of {412.63}. The photoluminescence of 1 in the solid state has also been investigated.
