Abstract

The temperature characteristics of resonant cavities have been studied. A novel temperature compensation method is proposed, in which a dielectric sphere is used for field perturbation. Analytical results are presented to determine the maximum and quasi-linear regions of operation in the cavity. The proposed method is successfully demonstrated by measurements on a fabricated triple-mode filter, which is equipped with the proposed temperature-compensation method.
