Abstract
Reaction of tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) with CoBr 2 in methanol produces a carbanion based coordination polymer [Co(OHMe) 4{μ-(NC) 2CC(O)OMe}]Br·MeOH 1. The enclathrated methanol molecule is situated in a cavity directly above the planar dinitrile ligand.
