Abstract
A novel two switch converter is proposed for universal power input with power factor correction. With this topology, power stress and conduction loss will be decreased significantly compared with single switch Buck Boost converters (such as flyback, SEPIC, and Cuk) and conventional two switch Buck Boost converters. The converter can employ a smaller sized inductor and shows no inrush current problem compared with a Boost converter. Topology and operation principle are presented, and experimental results are given in detail.
