Abstract

In this paper, we synthesized a novel binuclear Ir complex [(Dfppy)4Ir2(ecbtpd)] with a bis β-diketone substituted carbazole derivative as the auxiliary ligand and 2-(2-fluoro-4-methylphenyl) pyridine as the main ligand. The thermal stability, UV–vis absorption spectra, photoluminescence spectra, phosphorescent lifetime, electrochemistry, and luminescent mechanism of this Ir complex were investigated as well as the device fabricated in phosphorescent PLEDs through solution-process technique. The devices show yellow emissions with maximum current efficiency and maximum external quantum efficiency of 23.67 cd/A and 8.44%, respectively.
