Abstract

We have designed and synthesized a novel asymmetric amine‒carbonyl fused emitter, BACQ, having a hybridized local and charge-transfer emissive state. From the single-crystal analysis, the BACQ exhibited non-planar configuration with multiple C–H‧‧‧O and C–H‧‧‧π interactions, which could rigidify the molecule and provide good thermal stability. Non-doped device based on BACQ present sky-blue emission with maximum luminance of 11180 cd m−2, and external quantum efficiency of 2.48% with small roll-off.
