Abstract
In this paper we propose a new architecture for sending, receiving and archiving of multimedia files over 4G MIPV6 network with an effective multiple authentication method. The two modes of mobile multimedia file transfer discussed in this paper are 1) Closed group network suitable for organizations and corporate 2) Peer to peer file transfer between mobile nodes. MIPV6 mobile network enables file accessing and sharing between end mobile devices anywhere and anytime on the move. Closed groups (business organizations) can use their private servers and utilize mobile operators MIPV6 network for transfer of files. Besides the use of Global Unicast address for authentication purpose, we also adopt Unique Local IPv6 Unicast Addresses (RFC 4193). Unique Local IPv6 Unicast Addressing are assigned to mobile nodes in a private closed network. For such closed group multimedia file transfer, we introduce two levels of authentication procedure which is performed by the server. The mobile number of the user and Unique Local IPv6 Unicast address of the mobile device are the two criteria that form the primary login. The group number along with a predefined password assigned to each user depending on their access level forms the secondary login. Existing routing methods and protocols are sufficient for Unique Local IPv6 Unicast Addresses. This allows MIPV6 network to go hand in hand with existing IPV6 routers as mobile operators go for IPV6 standardisation. We are proposing local intranet MIPV6 file transfer architecture between mobile nodes in an organization network with the server being the storage module. Multiple local networks under the same organization can be interlinked as the addresses being unique are a high probability. Operators can use their own servers for peer to peer file sharing and transmission. This paper describes elaborately the authentication methodology we have introduced and gives an insight into security and mobility of MIPV6 and provides details on end user application
