A Novel Approach to Control Emails Notification using NLP

Abstract

The Digital era made Emails the omnipresent medium of information exchange and communication. One has to deal with a huge number of emails per day on a professional as well as personal level. This increases the chance of overlooking important and relevant emails. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to control Emails Notifications using NLP. Its objective is to notify only the top “n” number of prioritized emails by using Natural Language Processing Technique. The entire work has been carried in three phases: “the Spam Filtering and Clustering of emails”, “Similarity detection of new mail and allotment of emails to Clusters for notification” and “Cluster wise Ranking and Prediction of which email to notify”. Also, a simple “Similarity Detection algorithm” is proposed using the important words from the subject of the email.
