Abstract

The paper presents a new approach or template to create a mesh with better quality, yet with fewer elements. The approach the paper presents performs density transitions among boundary partitions using the mapped element technique. The physical domains (meshes) can be mapped onto mathematical domains, which in turn can be applied in an irregular domain. Also, with this approach, control over the mesh density becomes more e‐cient, and the rate of errors of convergence goes down. Several examples are presented to illustrate the versatility and validity of the new approach.
