Abstract

Communication is the basic need of every growing area. The most popular communication medium is Internet. But communication over internet is facing some security problems. So there are many techniques are available to secure the communication. One of the major techniques available is steganography. Steganography is the process of hiding secret data from unauthorized access. Image steganography is the process of hiding secret message within an encrypted image. Security in image steganography is mainly concentrating on substitution part. There are many methods for data substitution within an image. One of them is Least Significant Bit Substitution. The Least Significant Bit Substitution uses LSB of one, out of the three RGB colour bytes. The entire RGB colour values can be utilized by Sequential Colour Cycle Algorithm. Here bits of secret data are embedded in rotating RGB colour values. Another method for embedding secret data is Pattern based Image Steganography. In this technique select any pattern in stego image. Then the secret data can be embedded in the selected pattern. Sequential colour Cycle algorithm and Pattern based Image Steganography is combined together. In this paper we are proposing a novel method of Sequential Colour Cycle algorithm using Pattern based Image Steganography.
