Abstract
A signal processing system for a position-sensitive detector has been developed wherein the more usual electronic circuitry has been replaced by a stand-alone, electrically programmable read-only memory (EPROM) circuit. Using this simple cost-effective method, rapid determination of the position of individual particles is achieved without recourse to analogue or digital computation techniques.
