Abstract
The first general methodology has been developed for the synthesis of polyfluoroarenesulfonyl bromides from polyfluoroarenethiols. At heating of polyfluoroarenethiols with a mixture of Br 2 and fuming HNO 3 or Br 2, HNO 3 and H 2SO 4 polyfluoroarenesulfonyl bromides were obtained in good yields.
