Abstract
In this article, an ac/dc converter based on the stacked boost circuit and dual-mode LLC circuit is proposed. In the power factor correction (PFC) part, two boost circuits are stacked to halve the input voltage and the inductor can be shared. The stacked boost circuit can achieve PFC and soft-switching characteristics with open-loop control with the complementary driving signal. In the dc/dc part, a dual-mode LLC circuit is adopted based on two stacked half-bridge structure. The proposed ac/dc converter can be utilized in wide input voltage variation conditions. A prototype is proposed in the laboratory and the experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed converter.
