Abstract

The tea red spider mite, Tetranychus kanzawai KISHIDA, takes three times of the moulting during its development, i. e., the time of larva to protonymph, protonymph to deutonymph, and deutonymph to adult.It has been said that the male repeated moulting two times while the female three. However, the author found that the male was able to have either two or three times of moulting.But it was not clear that the influence of environmental factors on the number of moulting of male.
