Abstract

Abstract A sheep heart-rate transmitter has been tested under field conditions. Measurements were made simultaneously on two unshorn wethers grazing in a secluded paddock over a period of 15 days. Factors affecting heart rate have been examined. Measurements made on two sheep before and after shearing using one transmitter only are included to illustrate the use to which this type of transmitter may be put.
