Abstract
ABSTRACT Polaris B is reclassified on the MK system using new spectroscopic ohservations. The resulting spectral type of F3 V, when comhined with existing photometric data, yields a color excess ().()() :1: ().()1, in agreement with the results of McNamara (1969). It is argued that this result must also apply to Polaris A, therehy confirming the results of other recent studies indicating that this cepheid is unreddened. Key words: spectral classification-cepheid reddening
