Abstract
In this paper, we study the mean value of L(12,χD) where D runs over monic polynomials of degree 2g+2 as g tends to infinity. By extending Florea's method [5], we show that there is an extra term of size |D|13logq|D| and bound the error term by |D|1/4+ε in the asymptotic formula.
