Abstract
This paper contains a brief survey of the four subgeneric sections which comprise the genusBrassavolaR. Br. of theOrchidaceae, with special reference to the group of species (§GrandifloraeRolfe) whichSchlechter proposed separating fromBrassavola as the genusRhyncholaelia. The author maintains that these species should be allowed to remain inBrassavola as a distinct section.
