Abstract

The dynamic behavior of discretized non-conservative systems is investigated in the present study, and the conclusion drawn by the authors [6] is verified for the problems of this kind. The necessary and sufficient condition for existence of solutions of symmetric and positive-definitive matrices to an inverse eigenvalue problem is obtained. Through analysis of examples, some observations of interest on the characteristic curves and the vibration modes of flutter-type non-conservative systems and the associated conservative ones are presented.
