Abstract
If there exist a constituent quark resonance, we find by using the Adler-Weisberger relation and the finite-energy sum rule for pion quark scattering that it must be very massive and must have a large decay width. Our results indicate that the presence of the constituent quark excitations does not contradict the observed low lying hadron spectrum.
