A Note on Potential Competition

General Editor's Note: It is with very great regret that we record the death of Professor Martin on November ioth, I960. In correspondence about 'Potential Competition and the United States Chlorine-Alkali Industry', Professor Martin recognized that there might be more to be said about new entry into the chlorine industry than Professor Bain's model allows. He decided to continue to rely exclusively on Bain's model, however, as 'the main prop' of his analysis. Because of the interest of this subject we asked Miss Brunner to write a note referring to the wider context. Of course, Professor Martin had no opportunity of reading it.
