Abstract

In this paper, it is shown that energy-momentum tensors defined by Einstein and Tolman in the general theory of relativity are same for any spacetime. It is also shown that in general theory of relativity, the Einstein super-potential [Formula: see text] and Tolman super-potential [Formula: see text] are different in general. Four different examples are also given to ensure the validity of our established statements. In all these examples, we observed that the values of the Einstein [Formula: see text] and Tolman [Formula: see text] super-potentials are different but the Einstein and Tolman energy-momentum distributions come out as same. All the results obtained in these four examples are consistent with the already obtained results in the literature.
