Abstract

Most of the known examples of viscometric flows adduced to in the literature are either steady or unsteady curvilineal flows. In this brief note, we discuss the kinematics of an unsteady viscometric flow that is not curvilineal. The flow corresponds to non-homogeneous oscillatory time dependent shear superposed on a rigid body rotation.
