Abstract

Hsiao and Lin (International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, published online: 7 April 2004) discussed Stackelberg game in supply chain and investigated the supplier's optimal lead time and the retailer's optimal cycle time. But the authors just derived the approximate solution of the optimal lead time and optimal cycle time. In this note, we will offer a simple algebraic approach to find the exact optimal lead time and optimal cycle time in the constant marker's demand rate situation. Then, we can find that our exact solution is better than Hsiao and Lin's approximate solution from the numerical examples.
