A NOTE FROM THE REVIEW EDITOR The last five years in which I have served as book review editor for The Comparatisi have been very rewarding. We have increased the overall number of reviews, included more in-depth review essays, tried to review more non-Western books, and have reached out to many new reviewers, sometimes even to colleagues in other fields who brought fresh perspectives. The review editorship has greatly increased my reading outside my special areas—quite intoxicating —but the greatest reward of the position has been working with the nearly one hundred reviewers. Thanks to all ofyou for your unique contributions to The Comparatisi and to comparative literature scholarship. I depart as book review editor knowing that I am leaving the task in the very capable hands of my successor, Elizabeth Richmond-Garza.
