Abstract

The size moisture regain is a key quality indicator in textile slashing processes. The immersion, strength, wears resistance and flexibility of yarn will benefit from proper size moisture regain. The nonlinear approximation of size moisture regain has very important significance for textile slashing processes. In this paper, according to microwave energy attenuation characteristics, the nonlinear relationship between microwave attenuation and size moisture regain is established by using moving least square method. And basic function and weight functions are analyzed and chosen. Finally, the moving least square method is compared with traditional least-squares method in experimental data. The experimental results show that the proposed moving least square method is accurate in description of local variation, and the approximation precision is high for size moisture regain.
