Abstract
A paraffin ribbon is fastened on a perforated metal plate having a rectangular hole wide enough to allow the ribbon to be suspended freely. The desired section is centered over the hole and straightened by softening the paraffin over a hot plate and blowing gently on the section. The section is then cut loose on the end of a rubber stopper under a safelight and pressed against the albuminized photographic emulsion. Mayer's albumin does not affect the sensitivity or produce chemical fog in the emulsion.
