Abstract
The dynamic behaviour of a non-ideal controlled CSTR is analysed and compared with the ideal one. A multiparameter analysis supported by path following techniques has been performed on three examples. Special attention is paid to the detection of high codimension bifurcations, among which degenerate Hopf bifurcations play a fundamental role. The influence of the PI controller gains as well as of the non-ideality parameters on the reactor dynamics is outlined.
