Abstract

In this issue of Neuron, Izadifar etal. (2021) have identified a conserved molecule Wnk as a key regulator in both developmental axon branching and long-term survival of neurons, characterizing its interplay with axon destruction genes including Sarm. The discovery of Wnk will be important to our understanding of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases.
