A new year for Cytometry part A

Abstract

will be the first year that Cytometry Part A appears com-pletely with the new look and the new article categories. Sincelast year Cytometry Part A underwent a number of changes andimprovements. We not only changed and refreshed the lay-outof the journal and the manuscripts but also added several newfeatures such as the Journal Roundup and In This Issue and newor modified article categories (1). Most important of all, thequality and the number of manuscripts is increasing and wehave, with the excellent support of the editorial office, success-fully improved manuscript processing.I am happy to announce that we have achieved a clearreduction in the turn-around time for manuscripts. In themean it takes now less than 30 days from submission of a newmanuscript until the final decision is made. This goal couldonly be achieved by the tremendously high quality work ofour new Associate Editors, Editorial Board Members andreviewers. I wish to express my gratitude to them. They areperforming excellent work by selecting the best from all sub-mitted manuscripts and helping the authors to improve theirscientific publications.Most of all I wish to acknowledge our authors: yourexciting work helps to bring our Journal forward. Since ourJournal has improved its Impact Factor in the last year wealso encountered a clear increase in the number of manu-script submissions. This enables us to select the best of theavailable material. As a consequence our rejection rateincreased to over 30%.
