Abstract

In this paper a weighted multipoint interpolated discrete Fourier transform (WMIpDFT) method for amplitude estimation is presented. This method uses the maximum side lobe decay windows. When the H-term maximum side lobe decay window (H ges 2) is used and for (2J + 1)-point interpolation (I les J les H - 1), the analytical formulas to estimate the amplitude of a multi-frequency signal component are derived. The performances of the proposed method have been analyzed by means of computer simulations for a multi- frequency signal without noise as well with quantization noise.
