Abstract
In response to the Francis report, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) is changing the way it inspects hospitals. Since September 2013, under the leadership of Sir Mike Richards, a new approach has been trialled with 37 acute trusts in England. DJ Brown, one of the many specialist clinical advisors recently recruited by the CQC, discusses what nurses can expect from this new model of inspections
