Abstract

Abstract The reaction of bis[2,6-bis(bromomethyl)phenyl] disulfide with thiourea or sodium sulfide showed an unusual reductive. cleavage of disulfide linkage with elimination of bromine by neighboring-group participation of the generated thiolate anion. Its reaction gave the structurally intriguing thiols which indicated the facile anodic oxidation.
