Abstract

Abstract The advantages of applying direct radiant heat to both sides of heating coils in tubular furnaces, as compared to the more customary direct application of radiant heat from one side only, is discussed. The operation, construction, and application of a novel radiant-type burner is described which embodies many desirable features. Use of the burner in tubular heaters is discussed and operating data are presented.
