Abstract

This letter presents a two-way multilayer substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filtering power divider (FPD) by wisely using two TE 101 -mode SIW cavities on the plane. The impedance matching between SIW and the microstrip line is realized through the rectangular coupled slot, so as to achieve good equal two-way energy transmission. In addition, the isolation resistor is added between two ports to meet the requirement of good isolation. The starting point of each microstrip line is chosen to beyond the slot to realize strong electromagnetic coupling between SIW and microstrip line, so a transmission zero (TZ) is generated. The structure mentioned above can also been analyzed by using the analysis method of even- and odd-mode. A prototype of multilayer FPD operating at 12 GHz has been implemented. Experimental results show that this structure can achieve good isolation in the passband as well as sharp frequency selectivity and decent return loss. Both theoretical and simulated results are provided with good agreement.
