Abstract

Fixed-income portfolio managers require good measures of interest rate risk. In response to increasingly complex securities and concerns about risk exposure across the whole yield curve, Willner provides a new approach to measuring duration. By carefully selecting a yield-curve function, he constructs level, slope, and curvature durations that are easy to implement and intuitive in their interpretations.
