Abstract
We present a new thermal lattice gas in which the particles are distributed among 3 possible energy levels. Collision rules obey conservation of particles and momentum in the usual way, but conservation of energy is enforced by “demons” in a manner familiar from the micro-canonical Monte-Carlo method [6]. For this reason, the model is much simpler than others in the literature. We outline the statistical mechanical properties of our model, and describe the calculation of its transport coefficients within linear response theory, as functions of density and temperature.
